The Humphreys Record
Terms of Use
Last updated September 29, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of jayhumphreys.com (the "Site"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. Nature of the Site
The Site publishes an account of matters of public record, including United States Bankruptcy Court filings, sworn testimony, and United States Department of Agriculture enforcement records concerning Jay Christopher Humphreys. The Site is a work of documented public-interest reporting. It is not a government website, is not affiliated with any court, and is not legal advice.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. You will not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its underlying systems, or any submission made through it;
- Use automated means (scraping, bulk harvesting) to extract content from the Site for republication without attribution;
- Submit through the Site's forms any content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory of a third party, or that infringes another person's rights;
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity in a submission.
3. User Submissions
The Site's "If You Have Records" and "Corrections & Responses" forms allow visitors to submit information, statements, and documents. By submitting material through those forms, you represent that you have the right to share it and you grant the Site's publisher a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to review, verify, and, where a submission is document-supported and material to accuracy, reference or publish it as a sourced fact, consistent with the Site's Privacy Policy. Submitting a document does not obligate the Site's publisher to publish, respond to, or act on it. See the Privacy Policy for how submitted information and files are handled.
4. Intellectual Property
Original commentary, arrangement, and analysis on the Site are the property of its publisher. Underlying court filings, dockets, and government records reproduced or excerpted on the Site are public records and are used as described in the Fair Use & Publication Policy. Photographs used for identification purposes are used for that limited, non-commercial, public-interest purpose.
5. License to Share and Forward This Site
The Site's publisher intends and encourages this Site to be shared. You may freely share, link to, text, email, or otherwise forward the Site's URL, in whole pages or in the form of the link itself, for non-commercial informational purposes, without seeking separate permission.
The Site's publisher is the publisher of record for the content presented here. A person who shares a link to this Site, or forwards a screenshot of a page of this Site with attribution to jayhumphreys.com, is directing others to the publisher's own published material; they are not thereby independently republishing new content of their own. Nothing in this section expands any liability of a person who merely shares or forwards a link to this Site, beyond what applies to any person directing others to material already publicly available. This section does not apply to altering, editing, or presenting the Site's content out of context in a way that changes its meaning, which is not authorized.
6. No Warranty
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. While every factual statement on the Site is sourced to an underlying public record, the publisher does not warrant that the Site is free of error, and encourages readers to consult the underlying filings, which are cited throughout.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site's publisher will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Site, or arising out of your sharing or forwarding of the Site's URL or content as authorized above, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Site's publisher from any claim, demand, loss, or liability, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of: (a) any submission you make through the Site's forms that is false, unlawful, or infringes another person's rights; (b) your breach of these Terms; or (c) your use of the Site in a manner not authorized by these Terms. This section does not apply to your ordinary, authorized sharing or forwarding of the Site's own published content as described above.
9. Third-Party Links
The Site links to third-party sources, including PACER, government agencies, and independent organizations, for verification purposes. The Site's publisher does not control and is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of linked third-party sites.
10. Archival and Redistribution
Pages on this Site may be indexed, cached, or archived by search engines, the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine, and similar third-party archival services, and may be independently saved, screenshotted, or redistributed by readers once shared. The Site's publisher does not control, and is not responsible for, copies of the Site's content that exist outside the live Site as a result of indexing, archiving, or a reader's own redistribution. A correction or removal made on the live Site does not retroactively alter copies already archived or redistributed elsewhere; readers seeking the current, authoritative version of this record should refer to jayhumphreys.com directly.
11. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
14. Contact
Questions about these Terms, or requests relating to content on the Site, may be submitted through the Corrections & Responses form.
