Privacy Policy
Last updated September 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information jayhumphreys.com (the "Site") collects, how it is used, and what happens to files uploaded through the Site's forms.
1. Information the Site Collects
The Site itself does not require an account and does not track visitors with advertising cookies. Information is collected only when you voluntarily submit it through the "If You Have Records" form or the "Corrections & Responses" form. Those forms may collect:
- Your name and email address;
- A phone number, if you choose to provide one;
- A description of how you are connected to the matters discussed on the Site;
- The message or correction you submit;
- Any documents or images you choose to attach.
2. How Information Is Used
Submitted information is used to: verify claims against primary sources; respond to your submission if a response is warranted; and, where a submission leads to a correction or addition supported by documentation, to update the Site's public record with a citation. Your name is not published without your written permission, consistent with the notice on the submission form itself.
3. Retention
Submissions and attached files are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to review them and, where applicable, to document the basis for a correction. Submissions that do not result in a change to the Site are not retained indefinitely.
4. Security
Reasonable technical measures are used to protect information submitted through the Site. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and the Site's publisher cannot guarantee absolute security. Do not include account numbers, Social Security numbers, tax identification numbers, or dates of birth in a submission, your own or anyone else's, as the submission forms themselves instruct.
5. No Sale of Personal Information
The Site's publisher does not sell personal information collected through the Site.
6. Analytics
The Site's hosting provider may log standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and operational purposes, consistent with ordinary web server operation. This information is not linked to form submissions.
7. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and the Site's publisher does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Your Choices
You may decline to submit any information through the Site's forms. If you have submitted information and wish to request its deletion, you may do so through the Corrections & Responses form.
9. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
10. Contact
Privacy questions or deletion requests may be submitted through the Corrections & Responses form.
